Baz is the Co-Founder of Charlie's Star Charity and does all of the work in the background.

I’m Jan Burns, Charlie’s mummy and joint founder of Charlie’s Star Charity with Charlie’s daddy – my husband and rock - Baz Burns. Following the sudden and unexpected death of my gorgeous little boy, a week after his 10th birthday.

As a parent of two boys, I can to some extent at least understand the devastating grief the loss of a child must bring. Since meeting Charlie’s Star founders Baz and Jan however, I have come to appreciate the extent to which this emotional turmoil can so commonly cause additional life struggles, and how little support there can be for families at a time when they most need it.

I am very excited to be a Trustee of this amazing charity. Sadly, the devastation of losing a child is something no parent should have to live with, but it happens, and we can offer some breathing space for families by way of a short but very important break.

Caroline in an extremely active and adventurous member of the team. Currently the Assistant Harbour Master for St Mawes in Cornwall, she uses her confidence to gain support of the movers and shakers in the local community.

My name is Carol Musgrove and I met Jannie and Baz on the worst night of their lives. I was Charlie’s nurse in A&E the night he passed away. I can honestly tell you as a registered nurse this was the worst shift I had ever worked.

As a close friend, I am now extremely proud to utilise my skills to be able to support their personal journey in order to start Charlie’s Star Charity, in memory of their gorgeous little boy Charlie.

Sarah currently lives in the South West of England but was born and raised in Huddersfield. The whole family, Sarah, Chris, Bethany and Natasha have supported the Burns family campaign from day 1.

It was a huge honour when Baz & Jan asked me to be the Patron of Charlie’s Star Charity as it has been a pleasure, as well as incredibly humbling to work alongside them over the last few years.

Born and bred in Cornwall, Neil has been at Pirate FM since 1997 and has hosted the Breakfast Show for almost 10 years.

Lily is Charlie's cousin, who was affectionally known as 'diaper' by Charlie when she was a baby. Lily has been an active supporter of the charity all her life and had a large part to play in the design of the current logo.

Winner of the Community First – Young Leaders Achievement Award 2022. Natasha has certainly made an impact in the local community of Wiltshire. Always involved with the charity events, she likes to go the extra mile in everything she sets out to achieve.

Thomas attends Truro School where his interests include music, tennis and anything technical..... Currently working towards his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award, Tom has played an active part in the charity since 2020.
